Anonymous asked: Oh. Sounds really clique-y. Just what this fandom needs.

Not really? it is literally just people who are friends and write fic and beta for each other. but by all means, hop on anon and spew your negativity into the inbox of someone not even involved in it. good work bro. you are doing a lot for the fandom.

…wow, okay.

No, actually, for the most part we’re just friends who live near each other and like to write/beta fic with each other.  We made the comm because we wanted somewhere to post co-written fic because people kept crediting just one of us on them (like Carry that Weight, Super Trouper, or Take it Like a Man).  We’ve added some other close friends, but we’re not clique-y as far as I can tell and just…

No.  Sorry, anon, you’re wrong.

Okay, can I like, just, explain this for a minute? Because I am not about to deal with bitches who think that I’m some terrible person and I’m not gonna let people just hate my friends without really understanding this.

I made a few friends in this fandom. Like, honest to god friends. Good people. The first three of them happened to live pretty close to me and I introduced them to each other because I kept talking about them and thought, “Here, why don’t I just let them talk to each other?” So we became fast friends. We literally live within a couple of hours of each other. We see each other often. We take day trips to the city and go out to eat and go bowling and see each other’s productions and have sleepovers. We’re friends.

On top of that, I made friends with someone else who was a really good writer, and  then introduced her to the rest of the group. And then we added another person after that, and now we might add one more? Like, honest to god, we’re not exclusive or anything. We’re just a group of friends who write together and beta together and have fun, and we’re constantly growing.

Like, just… go through anyone’s blog. We’re nice people. We can be opinionated just like anyone else, but for the most part we’re kind people, good friends, and are committed to putting our best foot forward. “The Inner Circle” happened because we need something to refer to ourselves as in Skype chat. We share our work with each other in chat. We talk about it there. We beta. We help each other. So if it’s exclusive in any way, maybe it’s because as writers, we want our work to be beta’d, and we want it to be beta’d by people who we know are going to be helpful, people we can trust. And if you can’t trust your friends, who can you trust?

We just… love people? And we want people to love us back? We just want everyone to love each other basically. We don’t like wank.

Here, anon. Have a hug.
